Database manager
is a Windows based multi-lingual software for creating and managing databases
using Indian languages.
Windows based Database
managers are designed specifically for English like languages. Whereas Database
manager uses the ISCII specification for managing language databases.
Database manager
application requires default printer set on your machine. And if it is not set
then it gives such error. If such error comes then from start menu go to settings
and click on printers and install the printer driver.
Yes. In Database
Manager you can import Access database ( .MDB ) and Dbase(.dbf) files.
Yes. Using empty
file option from utilities you can delete all records from the given database.
For that you have
to use the Pack Table feature for reclaiming the freed space.
If you want to sort
all the records in your database according to your specific requirement then
you can make use of the various conditions available in this page to filter
your database.
This button is enabled
only when you have indexed your database. Using index information finding in
the database is much faster.
You can provide the
indices at the time of creating the database itself. While adding the field
information you can define the indices. If you have already created the database
and you want to define indices then by using restructure database from Utilities
menu you can define the indices.
The browse mode
is a quick view mode, which displays the entire database in a tabular format.
This is a restricted mode in which all the other operations such as copy paste,
delete etc. are disabled and used mainly for quick viewing of very large databases.
The Edit mode is a fully functional mode giving you entire control over the
database.
The working directory
is where Database Manager looks first for your files. The working directory
setting controls which files are listed in the Select File, Open database file
dialog boxes. To specify a working directory, choose File Menu and select Set
Working Directory option.
