Patrika is a Windows
based multi-lingual word processor.
Windows based word
processors are designed specifically for English like languages.
Whereas Patrika is a multilingual software for Indian languages. Even though
you can type in Indian languages in the above software, you cannot use the commonly
required facilities like Find/Replace, Insert Date & Time for Indian languages.
Secondly, the price of this package is also affordable to the common user.
Yes. A Patrika document
can be sent as an attachment in six different formats: Patrika document, Rich
Text format file, HTML file, ISCII file, Modular Editor file, Jpeg File or as
a Bitmap File.
Yes. You can transliterate
text from one Indian language to another, Indian language to English diacritical
and vice-versa.
Yes. Patrika is MDI(Multiple
Document Interface) supported. You can open multiple files simultaneously in
the application. .
Yes. You can mail
merge data in Patrika. The data source file should be in DBF, EDB or DB format.
Patrika accepts Smaranika File, ISCII data file or Shree-Lipi data file as the
data source.
Yes. The graphic
filter formats supported are Graphical Image File Format (GIFF), Tagged Image
File Format (TIFF), Windows Bitmap (BMP), JPG and PCX.
Yes. To resize an
imported graphic
1) Select the graphic by clicking on it. A hair outline appears around the graphic.
2) To resize the graphic and keep its original proportion, drags a corner handle.
The character attributes
available are Bold, Italic, Underline, Strikeout, Superscript and Subscript.
Yes. You can set
the left indent, right indent and first line indent. Left and right indents
are measured from the left and right margins respectively. The first line indent
is measured relative to the left indent.
For this click on
Insert Pages option from Page option you can insert the no of pages you want.
Yes. Press Tab key
to move the insertion point to the next tab stop in the current paragraph. The
first line of text you type is aligned at the tab stop. You can use the ruler
to set a tab stop at a particular position. You can align text at a tab stop
to the left, right, centered or on a decimal point.
For inserting table
in Patrika click on Insert table option from Table menu or click on Insert Table
button on the toolbar. In second option by dragging the mouse you can set the
number of rows and columns you want to insert in the file.
Yes. Using bookmark
option from Insert menu you can insert bookmark in the file.
Yes. Using page
break option from Insert menu you can insert page break in the file.
Yes. Using Footnote
option from Insert menu you can insert footnote. Here you have to select the
symbol you want to insert as footnote.
Using the Remove
pages option from Page menu you set the range of pages you want to remove
Yes. For that first
you select the table whose style you want to change. Then by using the table
style option from Table menu you can change the table style. There are more
than 45 table styles, which are provided in Patrika.
For viewing multiple
files simultaneously click on Tiled option from Window menu. .
You can easily create
a bulleted list in Patrika by selecting a list and then clicking on Bullets
from Paragraph menu or by selecting the Bullets Page from Format option of Paragraph
menu. Alternatively, you can select either of these options before you type
a list. When you press ENTER to add the next list item, Patrika automatically
inserts the next bullet. The new text you type is not formatted with bullets.
To remove bullets from a list, select the list and in the Bullets option set
the 'Choose Bullet' option to none.
Yes.
Yes. You can speed
up typing of long phrases using the keyboard shortcuts options from the Tools
Menu or by pressing Ctrl + Alt + K..
Using import option
or directly selecting the particular file type you can open files of different
type like word files, html files etc.
Using export option
or directly selecting the particular file type using Save as option you can
save the file in particular format like .doc, .rtf etc,
To work with this
key sequence you have to work with the keys from Numpad
Import of doc files has following features

Export To doc files has following features:
- Text (Character) Formatting.
- Paragraph formatting.
- Odd, even and first page Headers-footers and formatting.
- Table formatting. Table borders are exported as simple borders only.
- Bullets and numbering.
- Special Symbol Insertion.
Press Enter key
at any position in the exported file opened in word. Bullets will be shown properly.
Yes. The changed
background will not be printed in the printout but otherwise when you will open
the file you can see the changed background.
If a file with odd
/ even / first page header footers is exported to doc then to see the header
footers
in word,
1) In file menu click on page setup.
2) In layout tab check the respective option in header footers section.
i.e.
1. different odd and even
2. Different first page
It will show you the respective header footers.
