What is Roopa?

Roopa is a text styler. Unlike font styler, Roopa does not modify or generate a font but rather it takes a text string of any language as an input string. To this text string you can assign different fonts, envelopes, styles, color sets etc. This utility is designed such that, you can construct a ve...

I am not able to find my last page. How do I find it?

This problem occurs with inter-point embossers because inter-point embossers process two pages at once. Your last page is probably an odd-numbered page, and it could still be in the buffer of the embosser. Free your last page by pressing the OL key followed by the FF key.

What causes the embosser to skip a blank page after each full page?

The lines per page in your document most likely exceeded the lines per page setting on the embosser. The embosser automatically sends out a form-feed if the lines per page exceeds the value set with 17.NNE in all menus. You may also want to turn off a feature called "perf skip," which keep...

Top-of-form won't stay set; it drifts on longer documents. Why?

In the embosser's menu, turn on perf skip and set lines per page to 17.27E BUT on your computer, translate your document to only 25 lines per Braille page. The embosser sequence is: OL Takes the embosser off-line. 0.1E Enter Menu 1 (as an example). 11.1E Turn perf skip on. 17.27E Put 27 lines of Bra...

The Braille starts too high on the page. How can I move it down?

For instructions on adjusting the top margin, which we call the top-of-form offset, please see the section titled "Setting Top-of-form" earlier in this manual.

My embosser won't find top-of-form. What is the problem?

In order to find top-of-form for your embosser, the top-of-form sensor must detect the paper. Make sure that your embosser's left tractor is all the way to the left, and the right tractor is properly adjusted for your paper size. (The paper should lie flat--with no bowing--between the two tractors.)...

Is there a way that I can turn the Braille down? Sometimes, it tears the page.

Due to the wide variations in paper styles, switching from heavy to light paper or just changing from one variety of paper to another, may involve several changes to the embosser's settings. Therefore, we recommend you to contact our Customer Support Group for specific suggestions related to your pa...

You refer to the letter "N" when you talk about some of the key sequences, but there is no N key on my keypad.

"N" is a general term that represents a user-supplied number in a key sequence. Whenever you see N listed as part of a key sequence--for example, 14.NNE--replace the N(s) with actual numbers (e.g., 14.32E). For a complete list of menu parameters and their available options, please see the ...

I have an interpoint embosser. How do I switch it to single-sided mode?

Some Braille translators allow you to control whether your embosser embosses on one or both sides of the page. Therefore, you should consult your translator's documentation for instructions on how to disable inter-point embossing. If you have disabled inter-point embossing in your translator, and yo...
