Speed up the Start Menu

Postby ModeratorNA » Tue May 31, 2016 11:42 am

While booting up the Windows XP system it boots slow. You can fix that by editing a Registry Key. Open Registry Editor Check the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel \Desktop\MenuShowDelay

By default, the value is 400. Change this to a smaller value, such as 0, to speed it up.

If this doesn't work for some reason, then you might try the following:
Open Display Properties select Appearance option - Effects and turn off the option titled Show menu shadow. You will get overall performance better.

Return to “Operating System”
